St. Xavier's Public School Pothanicad is owned and governed by the Catholic Diocese of Kothamangalam, inspired by the teachings of Jesus whose values are love, peace, fraternity, equality, joy, service, forgiveness etc. The Patron of the school is the Bishop Mar George Madathikandathil. The school had a humble origin, in the year 2003.
